Question by Vanessa H: theoretical treadmill “accident”?
I’m a fictional writer and one of my characters is about to have an “accident”, which I would like to know is even plausible before I consider using that particular idea. The idea is that she is jogging on her home treadmill while talking to her stepmother (who is later revealed to have a deep hatred of her) when the stepmother suddenly grabs the girl by the back of the neck and introduces her head to the treadmill read-out. This, of course, knocks the girl senseless and causes her to fall off the treadmill, rendering her temporarily unconscious. Now, I caught an episode of Mythbusters recently involving alcohol-related myths and watched as Adam Savage lost his coordination on a treadmill (he was drunk, of course, as pertaining to the myth) so I know a fall from a moving treadmill can be painful. What I want to know is if the above mentioned assault is plausible. The treadmill I’m thinking of has a wide read-out display and support bars on either side and no, the victim did not see the assault coming.
Any thoughts anyone?

I dont tink that its possible, on mine the display read out is too low to hit your head on, even if some one grabs you and tries to do it, you would almost be bending over to hitting it to knock someone out. Maybe you could say she threw a towl on her feet and triped her and she hit her head on the wall bihind her.
