Educational video describing the sacroiliac joint as a source of low back pain. Due to the proximity of the sacroiliac joint to the hip and the spine, pain of SI joint origin may be attributed to a hip or spine condition rather than the sacroiliac joint itself. SI joint pain is an unappreciated problem causing low back pain . Clinical and radiological evaluation is not usually reliable. The only reliable method for diagnosing SI joint pain is by injection.

@symetricbody
I? would say yes. I’m definitely pain free. When I wake up in the morning and if I lay on my right side (where the pain was), if I flex and extend my hips a bit I can feel some crackling and popping, but it’s very unclear whether or not that is the SI joint or just some other ligaments in that general region. I should also add that I am in the gym almost every day and spend at least half of my workout on core exercises using TRX, Swiss balls, med balls, ViPR and take Pilates class.

symetricbody February 4, 2012 at 9:58 pm

@georgert were you able to? pernamently fix?

After crashing hard at a water ski tournament I went 15 years with intermittent acute pain in the lower back. My doctor said chiropracters were quacks, but ended up seeing one. During the first adjustment it took awhile for him to wrestle? me around enough to loosen me up, but when it finally popped it sounded it like a firecracker going off in my lower back. Instant relief. After several more adjustements, I learned how to self adjust it, and have been pain free since.

Neilio725 February 5, 2012 at 12:59 am

injections are not the only means to diagnoses. Their are a? myriad or low back/si testing as well as METs that can confirm/ improve/ or relieve that pain.

@Teddymonster11
WITH PROPER TREATMENT AND WITHIN THE LIMITS OF PAIN ,SI JOINT PAIN PATIENTS CAN DO ALL THE OUTLINED ACTIVITIES
START WITH COSERVATIVE TREATMENT AND ADVANCE TO INJECTION AND RFA
CHECK MY OTHER VIDEO ON SI JOINT
ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR?

Teddymonster11 February 5, 2012 at 9:00 am

Someone with the Sacroiliac Joint pain would they be able? to do the splits or raise their legs high or be able to do kickboxing? With the proper treatment would they be able to move their hips better over time? Or will they always have limtied rang of moation in the hip area forever no matter what?

nabilebraheim February 5, 2012 at 9:02 am

@sambking you are correct?
We doctors do not know everything .there ia a lot of good people made sigificant contribution to understanding and treating human health conditions.

sambking February 5, 2012 at 9:33 am

Where is the mention of hypertonic or? SPASTIC MUSCLES? Thomas Griner should be googled. His work read and understood. Neurosoma is the website where all his work can be read. Most doctors spend less than four hours studying muscle physiology. They know virtually nothing about muscle spasms, why they occur and how they can be treated. If they don’t understand how something works they will not be able to fix it. This is the case with most MDs.

nabilebraheim February 5, 2012 at 9:36 am

@SpinergyDude? great ,thanks
